Weddings and Marriages
Congratulations if you are thinking about getting married and would like your wedding in one our our five fantastic churches. A wedding is a very special occasion and we will do all we can to help you make your wedding day a pleasure and delight. We also try to make sure that the planning and preparation is as simple as possible.
The first step is to contact us at the Parish Office. We will send a request form for you to fill in with all the necessary information, such as where you live and where and when you would like to be married.
Once the date, time and location of your wedding has been confirmed by the Parish Office, you will be invited to one of our marriage preparation days. This is an informal day, where you get to meet other couples who are also getting married in the parish. You can meet the clergy team and talk through all thethings you need to think about in preparation for the Big Day and your married life beyond!
In the run up to the big day itself, the Parish Office will be there to help advise you of crucial dates and what needs to be done when, including the calling of your Banns and rehearsal dates.
For more information about planning your wedding, we suggest that you take a look at Your Church Wedding, which is a comprehensive guide to Church of England weddings including legal aspects, ceremony vows, a wedding planner plus a find a church facility.
Alternativley, if you are getting married out of the parish and need to have your banns called, please contact the Parish Office and they will arrange for this to happen for you.
